The location was great and the stay was good value. I was there for 6 days, and liked the atmosphere. The kitchen was laid out well for cooking, keeping my things, and using the facilities. The volunteers cleaned every day, though it was hard to keep the cockroaches at bay. I wish there had been curtains around the beds.

I stayed because the other hostels were full, and a private room here was affordable. Even so, I’d have rather paid more for comfort. I found traces of bed bugs on my mattress, and the managers told me it was an issue across the island. The volunteers were kind and moved me, but only to a dorm bed because no private rooms were left. The mattresses were old and worn, and I slept terribly. Sound carries through the place, the shared bathrooms were dirty, and everything felt unhygienic. The code system also didn’t seem safe. The location works well if being near lots of bus connections matters to you. I can’t recommend it.

Felix was especially welcoming and made my stay much more comfortable. The hostel is spacious, with plenty of room for everyone, and the beds are large and comfortable. There’s a cute terrace too, and the atmosphere is really relaxed.

The room itself was okay, and so was the location, but the rest was a mess. I’d booked the largest, best room, Madagascar, but for some reason I was given a smaller one for the same price. The shared bathrooms were dirty, there was no soap, the showers didn’t work, and there were cockroaches. I couldn’t find any staff to help. The door code failed several times and locked me out of my own room, which was extremely stressful with nobody around 😅
