Hotel Apartamento Bajamar

Never again. The second time we stayed was awful. The room seemed poorly washed and was dirty, and nobody seemed to care. Everything was cramped into one small room, the toilet, eating area and bed, which was terrible. The price is high compared with other apartments in Las Palmas that have a pool and breakfast. We kept having to go home, and they wouldn't help with a refund even though there were still 3 weeks left of the stay. They lie. It's an expensive, ugly, dirty hotel, and I don't recommend it at all.

The neighborhood is a little worn down, but the apartment itself is modern, fresh, clean and top notch. It has a flat-screen TV, air conditioning, a kitchen with all commodities, coffee machine, bedroom, couch, dining table and a bathroom that exceeds expectations. It's unfairly rated as a 2-star hotel, it should be at least 4 stars. Daily cleaning is included if you want it. Beds were comfortable and clean, and nights were quiet, with little traffic or nightclub noise. We stayed on the top floor in the largest studio, 37 m2, which worked perfectly well for a couple or small family. One apartment has a terrace, so choose that if it's available. Great price and location, just a 1-minute walk to Las Canteras beach promenade, with cozy restaurants around the corner, surf shops and schools 5 minutes away, and the rest of the city right there. Best restaurants nearby: Tasco Galileo, Toma Pan y Mojo and above all El Conejo Alegre. We'll stay here again when we visit Las Palmas. I don't think you can get anything better for that price, service, cleanliness and location.

Reception staff were incredibly helpful and full of local knowledge, and Las Canteras beach is literally a 2-minute walk away, with plenty of good restaurants and shops nearby. The apartment made a lovely base for exploring Las Palmas and the island of Gran Canaria. It's clean, decorated beautifully in a modern style, and the kitchen is well equipped, right down to the washing-up liquid. Robes and slippers were a lovely touch. The balcony is quite small, though that seems standard here. I highly recommend it.

The location is good, quite close to Playa Las Canteras, and the value for money was okay. My ground-floor room felt a little too dark. In the morning especially, I had to let the tap run a long time before the hot water came through.
