Hotel The Cathedral Vegueta

Mara was lovely to deal with and always there to help. Thank you for being so kind. The hotel is right beside Catedral Basílica De Santa Ana, surrounded by lovely little cobbled streets and great local tourist attractions, including historical buildings. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and the port is a 15€ taxi ride away. What a fantastic little hotel in the Vegueta district of Las Palmas, Gran Canaria.

Guillermo was great, and breakfast was really good, especially the croissants. The room was a good size, clean, and the AC worked. The location is good, and the hotel has parking at a reasonable price. Our ground-floor room had some noise insulation issues. Guillermo should do something about the walls dropping debris onto the bed and all over the place.

I stayed here for 4 nights in November 2023, and had a very bad experience. The proprietor charged my debit card when I booked, but the booking confirmation didn't show that it had been paid. At checkout, he said I hadn't paid, so my card was charged a second time. I saw the duplicate charge in my bank account and contacted him. He admitted it was a mistake in his system and asked for my account details so he could refund the extra payment. I sent them, but the money still hasn't been returned, and he doesn't reply to my messages or emails.

The owner was very friendly and caring, and helped us during our stay. Many thanks to him. He also provides a great breakfast, a happy way to start the day. The hotel has a lovely mix of aged walls and current technology. Its location in La Vegueta, Las Palmas is very convenient: the cathedral, Vegueta market and plenty of restaurants are all just a short walk away.
