Hotel O Nautico

The rooms were beautiful and well equipped, but the service made our stay a real disappointment. The receptionist came across like a strict school matron, tut-tutting and telling us off as she went about her tasks. The only shared space where guests could gather was off limits, and she hurried down to make that sternly clear. We were rationed coffee capsules, too. When we asked for one more, she told us off, even though they had simply forgotten to restock them. There was no apology for the sharp response. We had a room card asking staff not to clean our rooms, but that was ignored. When we said the service was poor, she replied that not everyone would like her. That was it. One room's heater wasn't working, and she repeatedly and forcefully denied it before admitting later in the day that it was. Breakfast was continental, but the portions and choices were the sparsest I've had on my travels. The croissants only come out at 9am, and waiting for them wasn't worth it. One of us asked for honey with hers, which seemed to be treated like a request for something forbidden. The croissant came with butter and jam, and you had to take the jam she handed out, like in a prison canteen. The packed picnic is a better bet. Some guests have had a great time here, but we didn't. We had 8 rooms altogether, and agree with another reviewer that they don't take criticism well 😉 Service would have got zero stars from me if that were an option.
