Right near the cathedral, this albergue has lovely outdoor areas, lots of communal space, working wifi, and friendly staff. The small bedrooms are the tradeoff. In the room for three, there was one bunk and one regular bed, but it felt stuffy and had almost nowhere for a backpack or towel. The bunk was cheap and wobbly, with no outlet or shelf on the top level, as if those were afterthoughts. The shower worked, though the toilet dripped loudly. Our only window faced a plaza, so it was too noisy to leave open at night. It should be fine for three friends with similar schedules and priorities.

The welcome was nice, but then came misinformation about dining and breakfast and lunch hours. If you haven't experienced what felt like ancient Spanish arrogance, this might be the place for you. There was also a garden big enough for something out of "a bug's Life," where they had us hook up our bikes by the nose. Spain deserves more.

I had a single room and everything was fine, and the place itself is nice with pleasant workers. The pillow, though, was really old, dirty, and smelled bad. Please pay more attention to details like that.

The owner and chef made us feel very welcome, both were friendly and hospitable. Being so close to the Cathedral was ideal.

A good place for pilgrims to Santiago de Compostela to stop and rest. The food was excellent too.
