Hostal Bayón

There's a common area for breakfast and eating, and the halls are filled with plants. You can tell a lot of attention and care has gone into this clean, warm, tidy hostel. It's right in the heart of the city, a beautiful, quaint hidden gem, and welcoming to pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago. The owner was accommodating and welcoming, and the shared bathrooms were clean.

The location and host were wonderful, and the value was unbelievable: 27 euros for my own double room. I slept so well in that comfortable bed and felt totally refreshed for my camino.

The train station and everything else were an easy walk away. We stayed two nights as a couple before setting off on a Camino hike, and the welcome was warm at any hour. The room and facilities felt a little dated and rough around the edges, but they were extremely clean. For the price, it was excellent, and I'd happily come back.

The service was good, though the place itself is quite old. There's a shower in the room, but the bathroom is shared. Breakfast was in a small room, all of us sharing one table. Maybe a little expensive for what you get.
