Hostal Guzman El Bueno

There was no drinkable water, and nothing about that was mentioned before booking. There's no one at the front desk, and we didn't feel safe relying on electronic keys on our phones to enter the hotel and room. They text you a link, and checking in at 2:00 was inconvenient for pilgrims. That wasn't disclosed before we reserved. We asked for a refund and didn't get one. Avoid this Hostal.

For €39, you get a double room with an ensuite, right by the cathedral on a quiet street, and the staff are friendly. It's a good budget option if you don't need much space or mind the noise. The room was small and smoky, with a soft, uncomfortable bed, basic bathroom, and poor soundproofing. There aren't other facilities like a kitchen or lounge.

For an affordable stay, the location right in the city center is hard to beat, and the cleaning was great. Our twin room had its own bathroom. The lighting was poor, though, and they took my personal towel. I asked reception about it, but they couldn't get it back.

You're paying €50 for the excellent central location, with tapas bars and restaurants everywhere. The rooms were clean, but the place feels like it hasn't been renovated in about 20 years. Our room was dim and poorly ventilated, and the toilet kept dripping inside during our stay. The AC machines whirred all night. It wasn't too bad, but it was noisy. There was no shampoo either.
