Free parking is plentiful nearby, and the apartment is right in Llanes' historic center, just steps from the port and main square. There are 43 steps up to the front door, as is common with places like this in small Spanish towns, just a note, not a complaint. We stayed for a month, with Marta as a lovely host, and found Llanes enchanting. It made a perfect base for daily hikes and trips to Covadonga, Santander, Oviedo, Ribadesella, and Gijón. The apartment was simple but comfortable, and we cooked almost every night in the serviceable kitchen. The large main bathroom has a tub and shower, double sinks, and a lovely view over the historic plaza and Church of the Magdalena. We used the corner bedroom and turned the other into work space. The second bathroom is small, but its shower is quite good.

The house itself was fine, and the staff were very friendly. The woman there said we could call her if we needed a map or anything. One thing to bear in mind is the smell at the entrance because there's a restaurant there, though the house itself doesn't smell of food. The facade is also a mess. The main issue was the electricity cutting out often when we had several things on, like the radiators and bathroom heater. The TV remote didn't work properly either. I'd give it 4/5 stars. Apart from those points, everything was fine.

The only real downside is the location above a cider house, and it's on the second floor with no elevator. Still, it's a magnificent apartment, with three spacious bedrooms and a generously sized living room. I'd definitely return in the future.
