Camping Playa de Troenzo

There are loads of beaches within walking distance, and the location is great. Our pitch was a good size and had some shade. Staff kept the site very clean, and the toilets and showers were good. The shop has what you need but is expensive; there's a small supermarket about 1 km away in the village. Most dogs were on leads and well controlled 👍🏼.

I was there before the season started, so it was quiet and the shop and restaurant were closed. The campsite sits on a hillside above the ocean, with gorgeous views from most pitches for tents or caravans. There are lots of washbasins, but they only have cold water. I found just one shower area, which might be a limitation in peak season. The ground was good for tents. Some pitches have parking beside them and some don't, so ask at reception. My dog was welcome, and the other dogs I saw were well behaved and leashed.

We loved it so much that we extended our stay to five nights. The beach is only a two-minute walk through the campsite, which has a bit of a hobbit-land feel in places. Great facilities too. It's our favourite campsite in Spain, and the best we've stayed at in Europe so far.

The bay view from our spot was incredible. The place has a lovely atmosphere and feels like a little holiday village, with amazing views, lots of stairs, and paths winding between the trees. We had a fantastic camping holiday.
