El Habana Llanes

We felt genuinely welcome with our dog, and the owners are very well traveled, which shows in the hotel's character and the unique things they've collected from around the world. Breakfast came with a nice range of regional treats. The garden covers a hectare and is full of little surprises, blending naturally into the landscape until it seems to run into the distant view. Set between sea and mountains, the place has a special climate and was the most relaxing stay I've had. Special is the word.

We should have booked a longer stay, especially after seeing how much we liked the hotel and Llanes. The owners were extremely helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was great, with care taken to offer good, healthy products, and dinner was quiet too. One small suggestion: the restaurant was so quiet at breakfast and dinner that it made everyone whisper, even though suitable, high-quality music played in the background. Our ground-floor room had a terrace facing the garden. The rooms are nice, and the hotel is tastefully furnished, partly with antiques. There are seating spots all through the open hotel and the beautiful park-like garden, with rare plants, a lovely pool and mountains about 800 meters high on the horizon. I can't remember staying anywhere quieter. We'd definitely come back.

I only stopped by for a late tea, then came back the next day for a late dinner. The place and its garden were enchanting.

The food is outstanding, and the garden and surrounding nature are wonderful. The lovely team deserves special thanks. The setting and the hotel are both one of a kind, with refined taste, excellent service and an easy, natural elegance.
