Hotel Rural Ovio

The rooms were clean and simple, and there were beautiful flowers out front. Breakfast was very average.

The garden was lovely and peaceful, and I really liked the rustic-style living room. That's just what we hope to find when we visit Asturias. We stayed two nights in the house. The owner was friendly and explained everything clearly from the start, and the room was perfect with a clean bathroom. Thank you! ☺️

The location is good, and the hotel seems fine. I'm writing to tell other users about what happened to us. It may have been an isolated incident, and I hope things go well for the hotel, but we only asked for respect and a thorough room inspection, which seems reasonable. The room we were given didn't match the photos on Booking.com when we booked. I don't know whether they added that room's photo afterward. We paid €120 for a room in poor hygienic condition, and the rudeness made the experience even worse. When we arrived, Mari, the hotel manager, was the one who "served" us. The room was dirty: hair in the toilet, visible grime on the floor, a toilet paper roll left by other guests, mold on the shower grate, and twigs in the drawers. We only wanted them to clean it more thoroughly. One staff member was kind and directed us to "talk" to Mari. She came over speaking rudely, called us liars, yelled at us in the hallway, and urged us to call the Civil Guard. Eventually the Civil Guard became involved. She said she had called them, but no one showed up, as far as we could tell. She then gave a completely abstract, made-up account of what had happened. She was also repeatedly disrespectful, yelling at me and suggesting I hadn't worked or knew nothing about life, even though I've worked in hospitality since I was 17. This kind of treatment, along with the room's poor hygiene, left a lot to be desired for a vacation stay and for the people running the place.
