Finca Prats Hotel Golf & Spa

The jacuzzi was dirty and smelled bad, and the rooms felt worn and outdated. There wasn't a coffee machine or kettle, and the conditions were deteriorating. My friend and I were charged different amounts for the same room and number of people. I wouldn't recommend this hotel. It definitely isn't five-star.

We were seated for only two or three minutes before the waiter asked if we were ready to order. They could have let us in earlier so we'd have time to choose. The tables were only half full, with several waiters around, so all the restaurant ritual felt like too much. Even with a reservation, we had to wait 15 minutes before they let us in, supposedly so they could manage the rush. If they know how many people are coming and when, they should limit reservations accordingly. It's a good hotel that's seen better days, and the reception and restaurant staff carry its cool architectural vibe, but seem to think professionalism means they don't need to be warm or courteous.

The all-inclusive minibar was a nice touch, and the staff were kind and professional. I also liked being just outside Lleida, with everything we needed a short drive away. Still, the breakfast was pretty basic for a place calling itself five-star, and the upkeep felt like an old Spanish establishment, with little attention to detail. I saw missed chances to improve guest service and bring in more business, such as a bar at the spa or Lleida products in the lobby. I'm also curious why a property this large has no outdoor pool, but does have that odd fountain-like setup overlooking the spa.

The room was clean and had a romantic feel, and the hotel is close to the center of Lleida. I had a lovely spa experience, enjoyed the good breakfast, and found the staff kind and the service brilliant. One of my best experiences in Europe, and I’m looking forward to coming back.
