Acapulco Hotel

The staff were so kind, and Mihaela was especially wonderful. I'm not sure I've spelled her name right, but she was the best. I spent a week here on a school trip and thought the hotel was amazing. I'd come back with my family if I get the chance, especially because of her.

The location was very good, and housekeeping tidied the room and changed the towels each day. Some staff were friendly, but the service overall didn't feel welcoming or proactive. For the price and star rating, I expected a lot more. The pool area was tiny, with sunbeds so tightly packed it was hard to move between them. People smoked on the beds near children, and staff never asked them to use the designated smoking area. We also couldn't take our own drinks from the room to the pool, as guests were pushed toward the bar. Parking was limited, with confusing charges: €13 if booked directly, €18 otherwise, plus a €20 deposit. Deposits were required for nearly everything, even an iron or kettle. There were no activities or entertainment for guests, including kids, which made it less enjoyable for families. The breakfast buffet was average and could use improvement.

Everything was clean, and the food was excellent. The service crew were friendly and efficient, so I really enjoyed my visit. Evenings can get pretty noisy, though, and smoking by the swimming pool bothered me, especially with so many kids around. It spoils an otherwise family-friendly setting. PS. Two of my swim rings disappeared from the hallway outside my room. Unfortunately, nobody wanted to help me with that.

The pool was comfortable, though pretty crowded, and the beach is nearby. Outside it gets noisy at night in August with all the young people, but closing the balcony door made it okay. The prices were affordable, so I think I'll come back. The room was clean, the design was nice, staff were friendly, and there was a good range of tasty food. It was what I expected from the hotel.
