The pool is cold when you first get in, but once you're in, it's fine. The pool area is clean and spacious, and the hotel itself is very clean too. Shops, restaurants and beaches are all within walking distance. Staff were friendly and really helpful when we arrived and whenever we had questions. I would visit again. My only other disappointment was that there wasn't any evening entertainment.

We booked a cheap last-minute trip for a few sunny days and ended up at Balero Park. Despite the negative reviews we'd seen, we thought it was excellent value and the staff were wonderful, always ready to help. The rooms are clean and functional, with a balcony and all the amenities you need. They're not the Ritz, and the outside looks a bit dated, but the inside was great. There's also a lovely outdoor bar and pool area. People can complain even when they pay very little, so I wouldn't let that put you off. If you run into a problem, I'm sure the staff will sort it out.

We were very pleased with the facilities, especially as I expected lower standards for the price. The balcony had amazing views, the staff were super friendly, and the location was good. It's easy to get to and from the bus station, and they have luggage lockers on site. We stayed just one night, when it was super cheap because it wasn't in season. I can only imagine how busy it gets in high season.

The hotel is quiet and pleasant for a relaxing holiday, with a supermarket right out front and plenty of restaurants and gift shops nearby. It's a 5-10 minute walk to the main strip and beach. We found it accessible for my nanna's mobility scooter: there are front ramps, two lifts to every floor, and a ramp around the back of the restaurant up to the pool. But there's no little ramp at the pool doorway, so we had to keep getting my nanna out to lift the scooter over. If you have someone who can't walk, request a room near the lifts, since the farther rooms have steps. Parking costs around 15-17€ a day, though there's cheaper parking in a nearby garage and on the streets. Remember street parking also costs money, and police regularly check and tow vehicles parked where they aren't allowed. We had a two-week stay. Check-in was quick, and the 200€ deposit we were told about beforehand was returned at the end. To get it back, though, you have to leave the room spotless, with no rubbish left behind. The rooms are basic. Our self-catering room was okay, but had very few pots and pans. They supplied washing-up liquid and a sponge, plus a kettle, which you have to collect from reception, a toaster, coffee machine, fridge, two-ring hob and microwave. The bathroom was probably the best part, with a roomy walk-in shower. The downside was getting only two toilet rolls for the whole stay, so we had to buy more. Service was very poor. There were clean towels when we arrived, and we were told we could get replacements every four days. But we had to put used ones in a black bag, take them downstairs to reception and collect the clean ones ourselves. For a one-week stay, the bedding isn't changed. If you stay two weeks, you can ask reception to change it on day seven, but they just give you sheets and expect you to change the covers yourself. No cleaner came to clean our room, and we had to carry rubbish to bins down the street. The food was tasty and cooked fresh in front of you, and the menu offered plenty of choice, but portions were small for the price. One hot dog and chips cost 9€. I couldn't really see a difference between the breakfast and lunch menus apart from tea and coffee. The cocktails were lovely and worth the price. Four vending machines in reception sold snacks and drinks cheaply, with most items around 1.50€. The staff are very friendly and will do what you ask, and I'd come back if the cleaning and room service improved. Cleaners are paid to do that work, after all. The hotel is nice, but those service issues made the stay frustrating.
