Hotel Metropol 4 Superior

The hotel is right across from the beach, with friendly, helpful staff and clean rooms. The maids came every day, and breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. There are plenty of great restaurants close by, and we enjoyed our stay. We didn’t have a balcony, though, and the rooftop pool is only about 2.5 feet deep. If you’re looking for a swimming pool, this isn’t the place for you.

Breakfast was one of the best I’ve seen abroad, with over 20 types of bread, fresh omelettes, bacon, sausage, eggs, lots of cereal, and fresh fruit. The main downside was the queue for hot drinks. We borrowed a kettle from reception for free, and only found out on our last day that beach towels were also free. There’s a room to leave your bags in if you have a late checkout. Our four-night break at this little gem was wonderful. It’s right on the beach, surrounded by shops and bars, and the hotel is spotless. Rooms are cleaned daily. Some people say the air con doesn’t work, but ours got freezing cold. Give it five minutes to kick in. We had no balcony, but the French doors opened all the way and that was fine. The pool area is a little small, but we always found a sunbed, and nobody reserved them. We’ll definitely be back.

The location was perfect, less than a two-minute walk from both the beach and the city, which was very convenient. Dinner was bad, while breakfast was good. There were very few food choices but lots of desserts, and the fish and pork at dinner always looked unappetizing. The rooms had a modern design and were well organized, but the shower had no door, which felt odd in a room we’d requested for three people. There was barely any privacy. One window was cracked open and couldn’t be shut. We noticed but didn’t end up saying anything. For two nights the room smelled strongly of cigarettes, and the air conditioning barely worked. In the morning there were loads of ANTS on the floor in front of the sink. I’d give it two stars. I don’t know how anyone could call it a four-star hotel, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

Kacia and Alex really stood out during our stay. They were friendly, professional, patient with all my questions, and made sure I had what I needed. The rest of the team made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The Metropol Hotel was clean and well looked after, and its location made it easy to enjoy the area. It had a relaxing feel, and the service was better than I expected. I came away with a great impression and would happily return. A worry-free, pleasant holiday, highly recommended 😎👌
