Alexandra, the hostess and manager, is quick to respond and happy to help if something’s missing. The apartment was almost fully equipped, very clean when we arrived, and in a great spot near the beach but away from the noisy streets.

The maintenance here is practically nonexistent, which is a shame because the apartment itself is nice. Several things were broken or faulty: the doors wouldn’t shut properly, the ceramic hob and toaster were broken, the blinds and air conditioning didn’t work, and the garage worked for a day before failing for two days. The host was available all the time, but the problems still weren’t resolved. We stayed in the fifth-floor “Poppy Field” apartment on Carrer Pare Claret. It’s spacious, with a roomy terrace, and well placed near the beach, entertainment area, and a Caprabo. But it looked very little like the photos.

We had comfortable mattresses, clean towels and linens, and a kitchen with everything we needed. The place was cozy and clean, and the air conditioner helped block both the heat and the street noise. Great value for money. I’d stay with them again if I came back.

I wouldn’t choose this for a family. The photos set you up to expect something much better, and the place looks unclean, with old furniture and poor upkeep. There’s no dishwasher, and even the supplied sponge had already been used several times. The living room/bedroom door doesn’t close properly, the bathtub doesn’t drain while you shower, and the air conditioner is very noisy. The thermostat also didn’t work right, at least at night, when it would sometimes be very hot and other times very cold.
