Casa Rural El Olivo

I arrived to find that the hotel I’d booked had no available rooms, even though every room was occupied. On the phone, I was told to wait outside the front door in the heat because there was no staff available due to illness. Unfortunately, I’d made a booking for a place that couldn’t accommodate me.

The best part was how close the house was to everything: just a 3-4 minute walk to the town square, the fairgrounds, and the open-air dance. It was so handy not having to move the car, and we could decide freely whether to go for a drink. There were three of us, staying a week ago for the town's patron saint festivities. The owner and her daughter greeted us warmly, and both were incredibly friendly. I loved the house, especially its lovely kitchen and dining room.

It’s good value for money, and the place was quiet and clean. The hostess was very helpful and sorted out any problems quickly. Guadalupe and Trujillo are about 30 minutes away. The outdoor area could use some work, and the indoor lounge needs more sofas since the chairs there aren’t comfortable.

Isabel really made our weekend memorable: when we had a minor problem with the car, she quickly found a solution. Our group of seven stayed at the house over the December bank holiday weekend, and we loved it. It was spotless, beautifully decorated, and the staff were so friendly. We had a wonderful time.
