Hotel Félix

Breakfast was coffee, toast and a croissant for 5€, on top of the €45 room price, so I thought it was good value. The room was small, but clean and quiet. The woman at reception spoke good English, which was a bonus for me. There’s limited parking right outside, though plenty nearby if you need it. I was disappointed the restaurant wasn’t open on weekends, but that meant I got out for a walk to find dinner.

Our check-in went smoothly, and the location is handy for visiting Lorca castle, which is well worth seeing. The bed was comfortable and the linen clean, but the rooms badly need refurbishment. The shower was broken, the soap dispenser was coming off the wall, the furniture looked very worn, and the toilet seat was loose. When our party visited in October, there was no food or bar service.

The staff were great, and even with my horrible Spanish we managed to communicate without any trouble. The hotel was clean and comfortable, though a little sparse, and it welcomed dogs. There’s a pleasant area to walk around, with restaurants close by.

I liked the room and the shower was great, and there were nice views from the room. But the beds were a bit uncomfortable, and a green light shone into my eyes all night, making it hard to sleep. The area felt a bit iffy.
