Hotel Arce

I paid £105 for five nights on my own, and for that price it’s hard to find better value. The room had a new air-conditioning unit, a wall fan, a powerful shower, a fridge, a TV, and lots of sockets. Street parking right outside was free and quiet. The bed was average, though far from the worst I’ve slept in, and they cleaned the room on three of the five days. I didn’t try breakfast, but I hear it’s basic, which seems fair for the price. The receptionist was very friendly, though his English was limited. It’s a great base, but you’ll want a car: La Zenia and other popular areas are about 20 minutes away, and the local towns were pretty dead when I visited. 10/10, thanks!

I haven’t even stayed the night yet, but I’m already impressed. Arce hotel didn’t show up when I searched Lo Pagan on Google, only San Pedro Del Piñata, so I found it by accident and I’m glad I did. Management has been really good, my room is spotless, and the shower is perfect with hot water that stays hot. It’s cheaper than the other hotels around San Pedro Del Piñata, and the quiet side-street location is ideal, five minutes from the town centre and even closer to the beaches, bars, and restaurants. I’ve got everything I need. This is where I’ll stay whenever I come over from the UK now.

For the price, this is still good value, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are on the small side but very clean. There’s someone at the front door around the clock, presumably a family member, so it feels like 24-hour security. To reach your room you pass through their living room and breakfast area. The beach and shops are a bit of a walk, though you can get there on foot. Breakfast is included, but the instant coffee is about what you’d expect for free. I also find the €2 daily fridge charge annoying. Still, the value is there.

For the price, I’d give it three stars. The location is fine, and there are plenty of places to eat nearby. Breakfast is just coffee and biscuits, which is okay at this rate. The hotel itself is very basic, and I didn’t find the staff very helpful. Worse, our sheets were dirty and had hair from a previous guest. When I raised it, the receptionist said changing them would cost €10.
