The bathroom layout is hard to understand. The toilet sits so close to the sink that it feels impractical. Starting on day five, a strong smell from the kitchen lingered through the bungalow and made it much less comfortable. We had a warm welcome at first and expected a relaxing stay, but by the second day even simple questions were met with short, almost irritated replies. What began well ended in disappointment. We won't be back.

The hosts were friendly, cheerful, and really professional. Bungalows Morani is peaceful, with beautiful surroundings and amazing views. Very comfortable too. I highly recommend it. Top marks, and congratulations to Bungalows Morani.

The terrace gets sun from mid-morning, so we ate breakfast outside and sometimes stretched out on the loungers. A couple of breezy days kept us indoors for meals, though the view from the breakfast bar was still glorious. Bungalow #2 was our home for 14 nights in La Palma, and it had everything we needed, with spotless rooms, plenty of equipment, and a very comfortable bed. Fresh towels and linen were brought at the end of our first week. It's set among banana plantations, overlooking the bay of Puerto Naos, a little way off the main road. The directions were clear. The place is very tranquil, and although we hardly saw or heard anyone else, we knew the owners were nearby if we needed them. Los Llanos is a lovely town just outside the location. You'll need a car or bike, and there's a designated parking spot. We found loads to do around the stunning island and had a great holiday. Bungalows Morani made an ideal base, and leaving was hard.

The house itself is okay, and the terrace and garden are kept up well. The views are good, though you can see antennas, houses, and greenhouses too. It's isolated and quiet, but getting there is awful. At night the rocky road and huge potholes were frightening, and the car's bumper panel scraped the ground and broke. The map even warned that we were heading for the "hangman's hole," which made it feel like a horror movie. Daylight makes the route look different, but it remains bad. The equipment is lacking. There are only German channels on the TV, no Bluetooth on the stereo, no microwave or oven to heat food, and the gas stove feels like it's from the 80s. The wardrobe doors are so hard to open you practically need Schwarzenegger. The bed was terrible and creaked at every movement, waking my partner. I ended up sleeping on the sofa bed in the kitchen-living room, which was better because its mattress was so soft. I think the IKEA mattress topper made it worse. A good mattress matters a lot to me, especially after hiking the volcano route. Sleeping badly because they hadn't bought a decent mattress, which doesn't cost much, earns a failing grade from me. With a better mattress and bed, the accommodation would have passed. There isn't much light in the apartment or on the terrace, and there's no washing machine. We travel with carry-on luggage, just three t-shirts and two pairs of trousers for trekking, so being able to wash four t-shirts and two pairs of trousers every two days is essential. Apartments I've stayed in over the last few years in Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Menorca, Ibiza, Porto, Madeira, and La Palma (I'd been there twice before this trip), etc., have had one. I'm on vacation and don't have time to drop clothes at a laundromat and come back for them. They don't take responsibility for anything, either. Five euros is acceptable to wash all your clothes for a week. They don't say what kind of coffee machine it is. Everywhere I've been lately has had a Nespresso machine and four capsules for morning coffee. There was no kitchen roll, just two very small rolls of toilet paper. Normal-sized rolls would last a week, but since there wasn't even one kitchen roll, we had to buy some. No shower gel either. In recent years, apartments have at least left small bottles so you can shower on the first day. Very few little things for guests.

Quiet and cozy, with spectacular views. There's everything you need for an unforgettable holiday, plus easy access and plenty of convenient parking. A little piece of paradise!
