We’ve played Roda during our annual boys’ golf weekend for almost 20 years, and it’s a great course. This time, though, they split our group without telling us, adding two strangers to a game booked for 13 close friends. We only get together a few times a year and look forward to playing as a group. We ended up with an extra buggy we didn’t need and two of us playing with people we’d never met. They were nice guys, but that’s not the point. I’m glad Roda made a few extra quid from the two players, but they’ve lost us. We’ll look elsewhere from now on. Combining people into groups is fine, but breaking up a group booking without notice isn’t professional. It’s a shame they couldn’t be more thoughtful about the decision.
