We booked the house for three weeks and had to pay in advance. The village itself is pleasant, and there’s a swimming pool, but the house was a big disappointment. The interior photos seem to be from a long time ago, and the furniture is worn. There are four bedrooms for up to eight people, but only five chairs. The patio has two tables and four chairs, so if you’re six, don’t expect to find extra outdoor seating. The barbecue tongs were in terrible shape. There were no wine glasses, and none of the knives cut properly, so we spent 10 euros at a shop to buy some. The garden hose leaked too. Pets aren’t allowed, yet we saw a 3 cm cockroach in the shower, and one evening we killed eight large cockroaches. The cleaning and disinfection hadn’t been done properly before our 5 pm arrival. There was used shower gel left by previous guests, wet bathrobes in the closets, dirty windows and touch points, dusty baseboards, and cobwebs. The closets also had leftover materials in the bathroom and kitchen cupboards. We had several electrical problems. One evening the circuit breaker tripped, apparently because of Ed Lumière. When I called about the lights, I was told to use my phone flashlight. 😂 With a 2-year-old child, that was quite something. Someone came to reset the breaker, but things worked for only 30 minutes. The problem seems to come from the switches at the entrance, so avoid touching them. Other breakers tripped too, and we eventually got used to it.

The house was spacious and centrally located, which worked for our family event over the weekend. But I’d never stay there again. It looked nothing like the photos. The mattresses and pillows were painfully uncomfortable, the sheets were very old, and the closets were messy and damaged. Paint cans were sitting on top of some of them, and leftover materials were scattered in the bathroom and kitchen cupboards. The patio was filthy and the barbecue couldn’t be used. The bathrooms had no toilet paper or shower gel, and the towels felt like sandpaper. It would cost very little to get white sheets from IKEA. I’m a travel agent, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to my clients.

After work meetings, the spotless, peaceful place was just what I needed to relax. I was passing through town for work with my wife and children, and we had a pleasant stay. I’ll definitely return when I can spend more time there.

I’ve never had a worse apartment rental, either at work or in my personal life. The landlord was rude, opportunistic, and unreliable. I couldn’t get hold of him to access the apartment or sort out any problems.
