Good.

Our dog was looked after so attentively, and we could take her everywhere with us. They treated her with great care, which we really appreciated. The staff were attentive in general, especially Marcela, the waitress, who was kind and helpful and made sure we had what we needed. The person who showed us our room even gave us a gift, a thoughtful touch. We were comfortable throughout our stay at Camping Godoy in Losar de la Vera. The room was nice, clean, and comfortable, just right for resting after a day of hiking. The restaurant was a pleasant surprise too, with tasty, well-prepared food and excellent value. A great place to unwind and enjoy the area. We’ll definitely return.

I wouldn’t recommend this campsite for caravans or motorhomes. There are only permanent pitches and six for free camping, and the place seems completely abandoned. Getting in is very difficult, with a sharp bend, a ramp, and an embankment on one side. The trees have grown over the road, so it’s impossible to enter without hitting one. The public buildings are abandoned too. I’ve attached photos so you can judge for yourselves.

We came back today to see friends and spend the day with them, but when I went to reception as the signs directed, the receptionist said he needed to ask the owner whether we could use the pool. The owner then told him we couldn’t enter the campsite. Excuse me? No explanation was given. I called my husband right away and told him we had to leave. I overheard the receptionist telling my friend’s mother that we were being turned away because of the Google review we’d left. A warning to anyone who has posted a bad review: be aware, in case the same thing happens to you. I doubt that was the reason, but anyway. There are people who have camped there for over 20 years and left terrible reviews, yet they’re still allowed in. Apparently even freedom of expression isn’t allowed in some places anymore. They’d be better off closing when it’s their responsibility and putting money into the facilities. They don’t want to get an unexpected inspection. Have a nice day when you read this, nice guy. 😃 The earlier stay was unpleasant from the outset. When we called to book the house our friends had stayed in, Casa José, they asked if it was okay because their own stay had been very disappointing. The owner assured us it was fine and said the mattresses were new. But the bungalow door felt like paper, its hinges were broken, and it was literally hanging on by two hinges. One bedroom smelled damp and awful because its foam mattress had a huge mold stain. Cleanliness was practically nonexistent, and there was barely any water. At 6:15 pm we called reception to complain, since sleeping there was clearly unsanitary. The very friendly guy said the owner would call when he arrived. He did, and when we spoke to him we asked to be moved to another bungalow, or at least to have the mattress replaced. I showed him a photo, and he said they’d gone to get a mattress and would bring it down when they arrived. At 9:20 pm, they arrived with a brand new one. We expected nothing less. The people at the campsite were wonderful, friendly, and kind, but the experience left a very bad first impression. The campsite needs to invest in, renovate, and modify the bungalows and spaces to attract people and make paying €80 a night worthwhile.

The facilities are badly neglected, and I won’t be back even if it were free. Bathroom and shower hygiene is sorely lacking: there are no lights in the showers, the water doesn’t drain properly, the sinks have no water, and none of the bathrooms has toilet paper. At breakfast, with barely three tables to serve, I had to ask the waiters up to three times because they forgot things. I ordered a burger without something, but they said they’d put everything on it, so I had to take it back myself. What a waste of food and appalling service. I’ll find somewhere else.
