There's a real warmth to Playas de Luarca that makes it feel like home almost as soon as you walk in. It may be a bar, but it's also a genuinely welcoming, distinctly Asturian place, with the sea and breeze somehow part of the atmosphere. The service is the kind you don't come across much anymore, and the care that goes into running the place shows in all the little details. It's just as nice for a quiet drink as it is for a chat with friends or a chance to enjoy the surroundings. I left wanting to come back. Thanks for keeping its special spirit going.

There are great views across the Luarca coast, with both mountains and sea in sight. You can have a barbecue, and there's a little terrace with a table and chairs for eating outside or just sitting with the scenery. The place is beautiful and welcoming, and the owners are very friendly. They also suggest places to visit. It's a handy base for exploring western Asturias, with Ribadeo in Galicia about 30 minutes away.

We've stayed in these apartments twice now, and Abelardo is a wonderful host who makes things as easy as he can. The area is secluded and peaceful, good for relaxing or going for walks. Nearby Luarca is there if you fancy a meal or a drink by the sea.
