Hotel Santo Domingo Lucena

The hotel has a lot of charm, and both the location and rooms were excellent. The staff were so attentive and friendly, especially Melanie and Juan Carlos. Thanks so much 🙏🏼👏🏼

It’s a beautiful, comfortable place, and the staff are polite and kind. My room was clean and nicely prepared for visitors. The hotel is very convenient for Lucena’s historic center. It’s also a historic building that used to be a monastery, then the headquarters of the police (guardia civil). The marble tiles in the central area, like those found in many old churches, help you picture its former cloister, or inner garden.

The hotel is beautiful and full of history, and the staff were kind, friendly, and extremely helpful. I liked the place, but the rooms are small and there’s no gym. The restaurant was okay, though I wouldn’t recommend ordering meat. The WiFi was terrible and hard to stay connected to. The elevator was out, which made getting large luggage up the stairs difficult.

The hotel is older but serviceable, and the staff did everything we asked to make us comfortable. We visited during Santa Semana, and the location put us right in the middle of the Passion Procession. It passed within half a block. The bar has its own entrance straight from the street. We saw the beginning of the procession at the church, had a nice dinner at the hotel, then went back out as it came by. The locals were friendly and the police stood back and watched. Everyone could get close for pictures, unlike in some larger cities.
