What stayed with me most about El Kanguro was how kind everyone was. They helped me with everything. I had a double room with a bathroom and a great view for just 20 euros in low season. Such friendly people :)

The owner was really friendly and attentive. We stopped in for lunch, and the food was delicious and generous. They also allow pets.

The empanadas were unlike anything we'd tasted before, and the seasoning had a surprising mix of flavors. The grilled meat was excellent quality and cooked just right, a 10/10. Service was superb and attentive. It's a simple place, and the price felt fair for what we ordered. It used to have different owners, but now two guys run it. We'll definitely be back.

The staff are really friendly, and the bar has a fantastic terrace that's nice in the morning, at noon, or at night. For the price, you can't ask for more. Just keep in mind the kitchen closes at 9:30 and can't be reopened under any circumstances.

We arrived late from Madrid after traveling there and had no choice but to put up with the apartment's condition. It was extremely old and incredibly dirty, with an unbearable smell from one room, yellow stains on the pillows, and kitchen utensils we couldn't use. The apartment was rented by the owner of the El Kanguro hostel. When we explained the problems and said we wouldn't pay the full agreed amount given how appalling the conditions were, she locked the apartment door with our belongings inside and went ballistic. In the end we paid everything to avoid more trouble, since it was getting late to return to Madrid. Horrible experience. One star because zero isn't an option.
