The staff were friendly and helpful, and we had a good stay. The rooms were clean, though a little dated and in need of some upgrades. The hotel is well placed for the metro and Chamartin train station, and getting to the Cuatro Torres Business Area is easy too.
I was here during Spain’s recent black out, and the woman managing reception handled guest check-ins with patience, professionalism, and real care, doing whatever she could. Emergencies show what people and businesses are like, and this hotel looked after its guests as well as the emergency walk-ins under the circumstances. All the staff deserve recognition.
Hotel Caballero worked perfectly for my cheap one-night stop near the train station before starting the Camino de Santiago. It’s about a 20-minute walk from the station, and the rooms were very clean and quiet.
The room had a strong, unpleasant smell in the morning. The bathroom bin hadn’t been cleaned after the previous guests, and the furniture, equipment, and appliances all felt old and outdated. Service was poor too.
A great hotel at a reasonable price in the centre of Madrid...
