Our room was clean and everything worked fine for the one night we stayed. It was small, and the bathroom was very small too. The shutters and windows did a good job keeping outside noise out, though thin walls meant we could hear people in the corridor and neighboring rooms. The check-in location was separate, as stated when I booked, and check-in was quick and easy. In the morning, we just dropped the card in a box on the way out. Sol subway station is only a few minutes away on foot.

It was overpriced. The room was tiny, with barely enough space for a table and chair, and we all came back with bumps on our arms, probably from bed bugs. Our keys stopped working twice, and we had to walk five minutes because reception is somewhere else from the hotel.

The service was above and beyond, but the single room is incredibly cramped. Don’t book it unless you’re skinny, under 62 kg. The shower is so small you can only stand in it, and there’s no room to bend down for the soap. I left my open suitcase on the bed during the day because otherwise I couldn’t get through the door. The location also doesn’t match the pictures: they show Plaza Mayor, which is a 10-minute walk away. It’s a busy area with hostels, bars, and nightclubs, including one right across from the hostal, so it seems better suited to young people.

Everything else was great, especially the location and service. The only letdown was the room’s noise cancellation, which could be better.
