Hilton Madrid Airport

For anyone needing to stay near the airport, the location is definitely worthwhile, and there’s a free airport shuttle. Getting to the city centre takes about 1 hour 15 minutes by tube, or a taxi costs 26-54€. The hotel looks really nice and polished, with a swimming pool and gym. Breakfast was very good.

The suite itself was very comfortable, the breakfast was pretty good, and the airport shuttle worked fine. Still, we wouldn’t stay again. For this price, we expected much better service and a hotel that lived up to expectations. We chose the hotel because of its indoor pool, then heard shortly before arrival that it would be closed for routine maintenance. There was no compensation at first. They should have told us when we booked, or offered something if the closure was unexpected. After we complained, they offered free breakfast even though it was already included in our rate, then offered access to the executive lounge. That was something, but not very useful with young kids. We had a lot of luggage and children in our arms, yet no one helped take our bags to the room. We’d booked adjoining rooms, but one wasn’t ready even though it was past the advertised check-in time. The AC in both rooms was deafening and didn’t cool them. I wouldn’t recommend staying in summer.

We loved our stay and would come back when we return. The staff were kind and helpful, and our room, 539, was big, comfortable, and plush. It had huge floor-to-ceiling windows and a door that opened to let in plenty of fresh air. The breakfast was great, and the on-site restaurant had a nice selection of food. If you qualify for the Executive Lounge, there’s a free happy hour. The free shuttle runs every 30 minutes, making this a great place to finish a trip before an early flight.

After a miserable travel day when Iberia Air lost our bag, arriving here was a relief. The staff were amazing, and this was the best airport hotel room we’ve ever stayed in. Thanks for turning the end of the day around.
