Hostal Casa 18

The location is actually pretty good, but that was the one redeeming thing about my stay at Hostel 18. The room was dirty, smelled bad, and looked neglected. People came and went whenever they wanted, slamming doors and talking loudly at all hours. There were double standards too: one guy complained about quiet whispers, then stayed silent when another group yelled for two straight hours. I could barely sleep because the noise kept going, and the place didn’t feel like it had rules or security. The shared bathrooms were rarely cleaned and felt unhygienic. When problems were raised, the staff didn’t seem to care. Based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend it.

This was a horrible experience. I booked seven nights but could only manage to stay for two. There were eight of us in one room, and the place was crowded and noisy, with just two toilets and one shower. In the kitchen, you can only use the microwave, and the fridge was so packed there was no room for my food. I don’t recommend this place at all.

It was filthy and felt like a bus station crossed with a hospital, with 12 people crammed into one room. If you’ve got nerves of steel, maybe you can handle it. HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEND ❗❗❗

I stayed almost four nights and didn’t have any problems with them. I followed what they asked of me, and things were fine between us. I also get the sense they’ve started paying attention to reviews and complaints, and may be making gradual improvements. The rooms still smell really bad, the dirt is noticeable, and the beds make it hard to sleep. A little effort could make the hostel perfect, and I think they’re slowly realizing that. I believe it can improve, so I’m giving it three stars. I’d stay another night again.
