Hostal Paquita

We arrived at midnight, but no one answered the door or our calls. We could hear the TV and the reception phone ringing on the second floor. We called 39 times in total, and two calls were answered, but the person on the other end said nothing and hung up after about ten seconds. While we kept ringing the bell, someone at reception closed the curtains and later turned off the light. We’re sure someone was there watching TV, but they refused to check us in. After trying to reach the hotel from downstairs for an hour and a half, we had to find another place. By the time we booked again it was 2 am. We couldn’t get a room for that night, so we booked for the next night instead and changed the check-in date at the desk, which meant paying a rescheduling fee. My friend and I were put through physical and emotional distress, couldn’t sleep until 4 am, and had to cancel the next day’s plans. It felt like a personal insult.

It’s clean and quiet, close to the Underground, but the walls are so thin you can hear your neighbors all the time.

The employees were really kind and welcoming, and we had a nice stay. It’s a calm place to sleep, not too far from downtown, though you need to take the metro. We went in February 2018.

A great budget place to stay. There’s also a really nice nearby restaurant called kababish, and they’ll deliver at no extra charge if you order from this place.
