The hotel itself is nice, but the bar service was awful. I asked for the same thing three times and the waiter ignored me. I went back to the bar twice, thinking he must be busy, but he was alone, sitting there doing nothing. That behavior is unprofessional and unacceptable anywhere, especially at a four-star hotel where you pay a lot and expect better service. Choose your staff carefully, because this ruined the whole stay for me.

Alvaro, the young, energetic manager in charge, made a point of ensuring all my accommodation needs were taken care of. He gave me a real home-away-from-home experience. The hotel is in the heart of the Pinar-Chamartìn neighborhood, where you get a taste of Madrid’s everyday life and quality of life. The view from the rooftop bar is spectacular. I strongly recommend it.

The rooms were nice, the bed was comfortable, the shower adequate, and it was handy to have an iron in the room. The air conditioning worked well. Getting to the airport is quick, around €12 by Uber, which could suit some travelers. I wouldn’t stay again, though. The area is very residential and boring, with nothing to do and no nice restaurants nearby. I found a Burger King and a supermarket, and even the hotel restaurant wasn’t very good. There’s no coffee in the room. The entrance door isn’t automatic, and the reception desk is uncomfortable to stand at. Reception also seemed understaffed, with just one person working, often busy with other guests or on the phone, so the wait could be long.

The rooftop pool is a nice extra, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel has good service and solid rooms. Its location is the drawback for tourists: it’s in a residential neighborhood with little to see or do, and the metro ride to the city center takes about 30 minutes, which may feel far.
