The location makes it easy to head out and explore, with a metro stop and a large supermarket close by. The staff were really nice, and the rooms were clean and fine for a short stay. Breakfast was the one letdown: only basic coffee, juice, and sweet or savory bread, with no buffet. You can pay extra to order things like eggs.

Getting around is easy, with buses and the Metro nearby. The staff were really friendly and helpful, though you'll need Spanish to speak with them. Rooms are clean and have the essentials, but the interior looks as if it were put together from landfill finds, like an architect's upcycling nightmare.

We needed an inexpensive place for one night after arriving late in Madrid, with an early train from Chamartin the next morning, about a ten-minute walk away. Pio XII metro station's north exit is around five minutes on foot. The receptionist at check-in was pleasant and friendly. The room was small and basic, but clean, the beds were comfortable, and all the plumbing worked, including a shower with great pressure and temperature. I wouldn't choose it if you want space or luxury, but for a decent, transport-friendly stay at a much lower price than most Madrid options these days, it worked perfectly for us.

The staff were friendly, and the location suited me because I needed to be in that neighborhood. The room was another story: there was almost no sound insulation from outside, the materials looked really cheap, and what felt like half the room was a balcony that had simply been enclosed.
