MH Apartments Soho Madrid

The apartment was clean and had pretty much everything we needed, including basic cleaning supplies for the first couple of days. There were enough towels and toilet paper for 4 people, plus a nice nespresso original pod machine, a big fridge, dishwasher, and fully automatic washing machine. Check-in and check-out through the automated system were quick and easy. The only two downsides were the oddly uncomfortable toilet seat and not having a second mirror in the bedroom or living room. Everything else was great.

This was the worst hotel or apartment experience I've had in over 50 years of international travel. The unit was clean and a nice size, but that was where the good ended. The safe and washer/dryer were advertised and both mattered a lot to us, but neither worked during our whole stay. MH hadn't told us they were already broken before we arrived, and they weren't scheduled for repair until the last day of our 8 night stay. They still weren't fixed then. MH only told us this on day 4. The WiFi/internet didn't work until day 4, when they finally gave us a new code. The TV kept freezing throughout the stay. On day 4, all the appliances, the hot water heater, and half the electrical outlets stopped working. The apartment had only been built out 2 years ago, but whoever wired it put the hair dryer, hot water heater, towel warmer, dishwasher, washer/dryer, cooktop, oven, microwave, and refrigerator on the same circuit. When we asked for a partial refund, they admitted there were many issues but refused any compensation. They stonewalled us and Expedia.com after we filed a formal complaint with Expedia. MH Madrid rarely answered the phone when we or the other disgruntled tenants tried to reach them. Sometimes we were told to call back the next day, then ignored all over again. It felt like all they wanted was our money, and we shouldn't bother them if anything didn't work.

Outstanding

There isn't much light in the bathroom for putting on makeup or shaving. The apartment itself is lovely, but the bed feels too short. I'm 1.75 cm tall, and for the first time my feet have been sticking out while I sleep.
