NH Madrid Las Tablas

We had a very enjoyable weekend, thanks in large part to the fantastic service. Everyone made us feel welcome, and Isabel in particular gave us outstanding attention. The rooms were comfortable, and breakfast had a great range of options for different dietary needs. Thank you for such a lovely stay.

The restaurant staff were very kind, and breakfast was always nice. The rest of my stay was fine too, but I arrived around midday to a very hot room that had been in direct sun, and I couldn’t adjust the A/C. The shower taps are an interesting design but really complicated to use. They should at least explain how to get water running into the tub or shower.

I don’t get the five-star reviews. This place felt very basic, with nothing especially memorable about it. It’s far from the city center, in what felt like the middle of nowhere, and sits right by a busy road. The mattresses were uncomfortable, the gym was tiny, and I understand the pool and sauna have been out of order for years. Breakfast was fine, but there was no way to make even a basic tea or coffee in the room. There were so many bees in the garden that eating breakfast or lunch outside was impossible. The one real plus was the staff. They were all kind and helpful, though they were just doing their jobs.

The staff were friendly, the room was good, and breakfast had a lot to choose from. We did book because the hotel was advertised as having a spa, though, and only found out on arrival that it had been gone since Covid. We saw it listed on several websites.
