Novotel Madrid Feria and Airport Hotel

The room was clean and nicely furnished, and the bathroom was spacious. Christina Rodriguez, the housekeeper for our fourth room, was especially good. She was courteous, professional, and kind, kept everything immaculate, and gave us great service.

The staff were friendly and courteous throughout, but there were several frustrating issues. We weren’t told before booking that the lobby and restaurant would be under renovation. With no indoor passage, we had to use an outside path to get to the Novotel, which was unpleasant in cool, rainy weather. The reception area was very small, and there was a lot of waiting while the work was going on. A technical problem came up with the credit card guarantee. The hotel had confirmed the booking, then cancelled it when the problem surfaced, without emailing us first. At checkout, we also had to wait while staff looked into why one room showed as unpaid, even though we’d paid for all the rooms by card and had a receipt for the full amount. There were no slippers in the room. Drinking water wasn’t replenished each day, and there was no sign saying it was complimentary.

It’s in a good location and the hotel is quiet. My room was very nice, with an excellent bed, and Angela R. provided good room service. The main drawback is the renovation: the reception is tiny, so there can be quite a wait. Breakfast is at the Novotel next door, which is really close.

The rooms have been refreshed and are comfortable, though they feel a little soulless. I was here for work, and the location near our offices was great. The hotel is being refurbished, and breakfast at the neighbouring Novotel involved huge, slow queues. If you can choose, I’d stay somewhere else at least until the work is finished.
