Holiday Inn Express Málaga - Aeropuerto

Reception staff were great, and the room was immaculate with plenty of hot water. Breakfast was a simple buffet, but perfectly acceptable. There’s plenty of space once you reach the car park, though driving in is unpleasant because the access is dark and full of potholes. It’s great for the airport and terrible for everything else.

The staff were good, though I noticed some seemed to serve western guests better than non-western guests. There are hardly any restaurants nearby, but the nearest mall, the Mayor Mall, is superb and about 10 minutes away by cab. I picked this place because it’s near the airport, around a 20-minute walk, and it worked well for an early morning flight. I had a good stay.

Spotlessly clean, with staff who were friendly and helpful. The location is close to the airport, about €10 by Uber or a small amount on the A1 bus, but it’s tucked away past the car hire and long-term parking places, so use a map to find it. The room was plain and clean, as you’d expect from a Holiday Inn Express, with what you need, though the single bed is very narrow. Free breakfast wasn’t spectacular, but there were unlimited pastries, coffee, fruit, cheese, ham, and more. Perfect before an early flight, though not somewhere you’d want to spend a holiday.

The check-in was hassle-free, and the room and bathroom had everything I needed. The bed was comfortable too. The main reception staff were especially friendly and keen to help, which made for an even better short stay. The hotel ticked all the boxes for me.
