ICON Malabar

The staff made our seven-day visit feel special. They were welcoming, knowledgeable, and helpful, and went beyond what we expected in every department. The Soho area suited us because it was quieter, yet only a short walk to the market, the lively Old Town, the culture, and the harbour. There were good places to eat and drink nearby, too. We're a couple in our mid 60's and loved the bright third-floor room, the big comfortable bed, and the great shower. Sarah and I thank you, Icon Malabar!

The street can be noisy, with a scooter rental/shop nearby and restaurants. You can ask ahead for a room on a higher floor and farther from the street. Even so, I'd highly recommend the hotel. It's right in the city center, with everything close and the port just a six-minute walk away. Breakfast had lots of choice and fresh products. The place has a modern design with plenty of plants, and the staff were very kind and helpful. Well done! ❤️

Daniel at the front desk was warm, friendly, bubbly, and professional. He always put a smile on our faces, and we had plenty of interesting, enriching conversations about Spain and other things. We brought my partner to Malaga for her 36th birthday and loved every bit of our stay. The hotel is central and nicely decorated. Our room was always very clean, with a spacious, cosy bed. The shower was roomy and easy to get into, especially helpful since I have a hip issue at the moment. We'll definitely stay here again next time we visit Malaga.

The property itself was spotless, and the staff were welcoming and pleasant. They also gave us wonderful food recommendations. It's in Malaga's Soho area, just a short walk from the city's great spots. My concern is with the reservation departments at all three properties of this brand. I own a travel agency and send many clients to these hotels. I had a non-refundable booking, and the policy allows one date change, which I'd already used before a national emergency. After severe flooding in the country made it impossible for me to travel, all three hotels refused to allow a second change. I spoke with reservation and hotel management, but as someone who refers many clients, I found the lack of empathy and support during a crisis disheartening. I hope they reconsider. I'll be cautious about recommending them in future, and I'm posting this same review on all three hotels. This isn't a reflection on the hotel itself, just a caution to others.
