Hotel Club Cala Romani

The team at Club Cala Romani made the stay feel welcoming and special. Naim was fantastic, so friendly and helpful, and Anna and Joanna at reception were kind and patient when I needed advice about exploring the area. The atmosphere had such good energy, and you could tell the staff cared about guests. There’s also a lovely beach down a green path, peaceful and scenic, and well worth the walk. My room was spotless, amazing, and had a nice treat waiting for me. Check-in was so quick and easy that I barely had to wait. The food was a bit basic, but I wasn’t there for the food. Sometimes I got a pizza or burger to eat in my room, and occasionally some Bulgarian treats. Every moment felt calm, and I loved my stay. I’d recommend it and can’t wait to come back! ❤️

The area is really nice, and the pool is great. I’d come back. Rooms are cleaned daily and kept clean, and the staff doing the cleaning and working at reception are friendly and helpful. The cup system for all-inclusive drinks means you can take up to two at once, but you can get more, so it’s no big deal. Not having the TV remote or WiFi included is a bit odd, though hardly a disaster on holiday. Just know this isn’t a quiet place without children or drunken Brits.

There are hotels all around, but the location is pretty good for walking to local shops, bars, restaurants, and the beach. The pool has activities all day for kids across different age groups, so it works well for a family holiday. If you want somewhere quiet and relaxing, this isn’t it. The food was good, though breakfast changed each day. There wasn’t a huge selection of alcoholic drinks, but plenty of soft drinks for the kids. The staff could be really nice, or really disrespectful, depending on who you dealt with.

I don’t usually write holiday reviews, but I’m making an exception. I would not go back. The pool was clean and great, the rooms were clean, and the cleaning and food staff were very nice. There were a few video games for kids and a couple of pool tables, but that was about it. The recurring issue was the bar staff, who kept saying “not possible” to families. The plastic cup system was a problem for other families too. You had to return your cup to get another drink. I took my autistic son to the toilet, and when we came back, his cup had been taken. He was upset, and when I asked the barmaid for another, she refused and kept saying “not possible.” Things got heated, though management sorted it out. As the days went by, the repeated “not possible” became almost comical, but it was a real problem for families. We’d spent a lot of money on the holiday, and I was furious to be refused a plastic cup. Our arrival in the early hours should have been a warning. Check-in was poor, took far too long, and the staff had no manners. There were 20 people on the minibus, and it took well over an hour. Nobody gave us information about WiFi or directions to our room. Asking security was no help: his English was poor, and he pointed at the moon. Checkout was just as bad. The male receptionist was really rude to my wife. I only heard the full story from her on the bus, and I was extremely annoyed. Maybe that’s why she hadn’t told me earlier, since I wouldn’t have put up with it. If you’re thinking about coming here, don’t. Would we return? Not possible.
