Out in the Mallorcan countryside, this is a lovely rustic property with a very laid-back feel. Our apartment, Suite de Bodas, had two nice bedrooms, one with air conditioning and one without, plus a kitchen-living room. Outside there was a private terrace with a large kitchen, sun loungers, and a table. The pool was a delight, and the whole place felt peaceful and relaxed. Felanitx is about a 10-minute drive away and Manacor about 15 minutes. You'll need a car unless you're a very keen cyclist.

The people working here were the one bright spot. The two of them were clearly doing their best, though it seemed they were left to cover for the owner, who stayed out of sight while taking the profits. Finca Es Pla Nou felt badly neglected, not charmingly rustic. The rooms were in shockingly poor shape for the price, with shabby old furniture and things that seemed broken or only partly usable. The lack of care was obvious everywhere. I came away feeling the owner cared little about guests and was focused on making money while providing as little as possible. Dressing neglect and exploitation up as agroturismo doesn't change what it is. If comfort, time, or money matter to you, I'd stay well away.

Those sharp stones made the drive here stressful, and I worried the tires might burst. My car was damaged on the way. If you're in a rental, there could be hefty penalties.

The bedroom had so many flies. The bathroom has no ventilation at all, with no fan, and its window is so high you'd need a ladder to reach it.
