The hostel seemed to be closed when I arrived on the Camino de la Lana, unfortunately. I would gladly give it a different review if that hadn’t been the case.

We couldn't take a shower because there was no hot water. Alvaro said his water heater had broken that very morning and he hadn't noticed, so we had to point out the problem ourselves. He didn't even have the courtesy to tell us. He also criticized Camino de La Lana hikers for arriving dirty, yet there wasn't hot water for them to wash. You can't charge guests and fail to provide something as basic as hot water, then criticize and blame them. Even the most basic hostels have it. It was awful.

Ruth and Álvaro make you feel at home from the moment you arrive. The hostel is beautiful, peaceful, clean, and clearly well maintained. We stayed a few days for work and were really happy with it. We'd love to return and spend more time enjoying the natural surroundings, maybe do some hiking. Thanks for everything.

We booked the whole guesthouse for three nights over Christmas so our large family could celebrate Christmas Eve and Christmas Day together. The owners made us feel at home right away with their warm welcome and attentive service. There was plenty to explore nearby, including the historic Camino del Cid, Río Dulce Natural Park, and the impressive city of Sigüenza. At the guesthouse, the festive decorations and little touches created a cozy setting for our celebrations, and the owners stayed attentive to what we needed. I’d recommend it to a large family looking for a welcoming place for a holiday or celebration.
