A friendly, well-maintained neighbourhood with security and a huge shared pool. The location is great too.

We felt unwelcome here, more than anywhere else we’ve visited in Spain. The staff didn’t seem to know the pool rules, spoke only Spanish, and came across as rude and aggressive. Marbella itself is overrated in my view, and we won’t return.

The location is the only reason I’d give this two stars. We were covered in bites and rashes after our visit. The urbanisation has Aedes Tiger Mosquitoes, along with biting flies and midges that carry Leishmania, which is endemic in Marbella. It can leave scars on people and kill dogs. There’s also a stagnant pond where mosquitoes breed. At $350 a night in June, I can’t recommend it. The buildings are very old and dusty, and I suspect asbestos. With the AC running, I had trouble breathing. I couldn’t open the windows for fresh air because there are no screens or ceiling fans. The pool is nice, but the biting insects made it impossible to enjoy. It didn’t feel luxurious or worth the price, at least until the place is refurbished and the pest problem is dealt with.
