Aluasun Marbella Park Hotel

Vanesa from the kids club was so good with my little one, and the entertainment in general was really enjoyable. We also loved the pools and the all-inclusive service. There was a handy shuttle into Marbella, with a few shops nearby, and everything was spotless. The staff were great. My daughter and I had a fantastic stay, with really good food and plenty of variety. The themed restaurant evenings were a nice touch.

A great choice for families and for anyone who likes being surrounded by greenery. We had a lovely holiday in Marbella. The hotel was spotless, service was brilliant, and the pools were fantastic. The food offered a good selection for the price we paid.

The pool hours were a problem from the start: it was meant to be open only from 11am to 6pm, and even then it wasn’t always open. There’s not much for kids in the entertainment, which felt boring and aimed at older guests. After 6pm, if you don’t drive, you’re stuck at the hotel with nothing to do. The daytime entertainment was limited too, and they spoke the three languages I mentioned, so I had to ask them to repeat things in English. There’s a small arcade, but the machines kept failing and staff ended up refunding us. I wouldn’t waste holiday time here if you want to go out and enjoy yourself. The hotel is one of the worst I’ve stayed in, for the location, entertainment, language barrier, cleaners, some staff, and the timing of things. Apart from the manager, who was lovely, nobody spoke or understood English, and they didn’t make an effort. They spoke French and German very well, and didn’t seem to care for English speakers. If you can’t speak Spanish, have a translator ready. Food was poor as well. We got undercooked chicken a few times, and there wasn’t much choice for younger kids, so my kiddo mostly lived on chips. Breakfast was the worst. The baked beans were so chewy they felt like gum. Some staff were rude, especially one woman. We were all inclusive, but after two drinks she told my kiddo she couldn’t have any more. She also said that because we were together, we should order together instead of separately. Her attitude was disgusting. The cleaners started at 7am, dragging chairs and banging things around loudly. I know they have a job to do, but we were on holiday and didn’t expect to be woken that early. It went on past 1pm, so forget a late morning nap. They could have been more considerate and respectful. Not everyone gets up early for breakfast. We tried it once, found it so disgusting, and didn’t go again. For older people who don’t want to do much and can speak French, German, or Spanish, this might be perfect. For families, it’s absolutely rubbish.

The pool was nice and the entertainment was pleasant, but the playground area badly needs lights. The room felt muggy and smelled when we first walked in, and there were bugs. It really needed a deep clean. Food was just okay, with breakfast a bit better than dinner. The theme nights seemed to serve the same things each time, and we had several items that were still raw. There was only one cook at the grill, so the lines got long, though the cook was working incredibly hard. This didn’t feel like a four-star hotel.
