Hotel - Apartamentos Greenlife Golf

I've been coming here for 25 years, and the driving range used to be my home practice turf. Now it's unusable. I think there have been new owners for about a year and a half, but they don't seem to understand golf or love it. They spent money on an arch at the range entrance and parking lot, concrete floors under the long-hit range carpets, and expensive-looking chairs for resting between practice. Meanwhile, the grass, which is the heart of any golf facility, has been completely neglected. Both the putting green and the short-range area are totally destroyed, and the owners don't seem to care. I can't understand why somebody with no apparent understanding or love for golf would run a golf facility. I'll finish using my ball card, then switch to Santa Clara Driving Range. Sadly, Greenlife Golf isn't worth spending a penny on anymore. Sad, sad, sad!

Dry, hole-ridden greens and overgrown, dry fairways on every hole. The course was in terrible shape, easily the worst golf course I've ever played. 1/10. We only played golf, so this isn't about the hotel.

I can't recommend Greenlife Golf in Marbella if you want to enjoy a round. Marbella has lovely golf elsewhere, but this course left me wishing I'd gone anywhere else. The tee boxes were sloped, patchy and hard to make sense of. The bunkers felt like punishment too, with sand like regret from the DIY aisle. I didn't splash out of them, I practically excavated. The fairways looked as if heavy machinery had just finished with them, and the ball barely settled. Every shot felt like choosing a different kind of disappointment. Putting was just a matter of accepting fate. The greens were so unpredictable that I couldn't tell whether my ball was rolling or being pushed back. They reminded me of a surface during minor seismic activity. The whole place felt like a farmer's field after a bad year, or like someone had explained golf to a contractor who'd never seen it, then walked away before the work was done. I've played questionable courses before, from winter mats in sideways rain to municipal tracks doubling as dog parks, but this was something else. If testing your patience, technique and faith in course maintenance is your goal, this place will do that. For a round you can enjoy, go somewhere else.

I have an apartment in the complex, but I won't play this course again. The greens barely deserve the name, and wild boars have left huge damage in the fairways that hasn't been repaired. Worse, there are places with wild boar or dog excrement. The course is in a truly catastrophic state. What a pity!
