The room phone never worked. Maintenance came in while we were resting in the afternoon without warning, stayed for two hours, and still didn’t fix it. The place was clean and comfortable, but the reception team felt less friendly than staff I’ve met at other hotels. Room service and restaurant staff were much more welcoming. Activities and entertainment seemed aimed mostly at French-speaking guests, so if you’re not French, you may struggle to enjoy them. Poolside drinks were basic, and the food was mixed, with some good dishes and some not so good. Nearly everything seemed to cost extra. Using an iron meant paying €5 and leaving a €10 deposit, which didn’t feel worthwhile. A mini-fridge also costs extra, and we couldn’t take our room towel to the pool, so I had to buy another towel from the hotel. Compared with hotels I’ve stayed at in Granada and Seville, this place didn’t measure up.

The food was the biggest letdown: it was cold, bland, repetitive, often seemed undercooked, and didn’t look appealing. Staff spoke French and seemed to assume everyone else did too. We couldn’t get English support at reception or elsewhere, and most guests were French, giving the place more of a retirement-home feel than a holiday resort. The main building rooms were extremely noisy, with hallway and neighboring-room sounds making it nearly impossible to sleep. We’d read online that evening dining had a dress code and packed for it, but the only requirement turned out to be shoes. The website didn’t match what we found. The Spanish-style building looks charming, the large pool was rarely busy and we always found loungers, and the hotel was spotless. Those were small wins in an otherwise frustrating stay. Unless you speak French, can put up with noise, and have very low expectations for food and service, I’d look elsewhere.

We were a family of four on our first Thomson holiday, with a four-year-old and a six-month-old, and were pleased with the stay. The food was great for our picky kids and different tastes, and we could always find something for everyone. There was also a nice range of local dishes each day. Our family room was clean, lovely, and had its own patio. When our daughter had an accident in bed, the sheets were changed promptly and without fuss. Most staff were friendly and polite, though one woman at reception was sassy. People made a fuss of the baby. The bar was nice, and the bartenders were friendly. Drinks were small, and the all-inclusive cocktails were limited, but we weren’t fussy. Our daughter tried the mini club once and didn’t want to go back. The other entertainment was excellent, especially the flamenco dancers and Frank Sinatra singer. We’d definitely return if we got the chance.

The room we paid for was a double, but we were put in one with two single beds. Reception refused to move us. The cleaners took 70 euros from my money, and reception did nothing about it. Nobody even apologized. Instead, a rude woman at the desk shouted at me. I asked for no more cleaners to enter our room, then one tried to come in the very next day. The staff were unbelievably unhelpful and extremely rude. Everything felt French, from the staff to the music and entertainment, even though the hotel is in Spain. There was nothing there for British people. I’d posted this review before and it was taken down, which makes it seem like they don’t want people to know about my money being stolen by cleaners or how rude the staff were. I would never go back, even if it were the last hotel on earth. Don’t come here, it would be the worst mistake you make.

More than 95 percent of the guests seemed to be French, and so was all the entertainment. It was hard for us English guests to follow, especially in Spain. Dinner was usually very cool and needed microwaving to be edible, though breakfast and lunch were OK. The staff were pleasant and helpful.
