We were left to find and pay for another hotel after HC6 double-booked us, and the refund they promised still hadn’t arrived when I added this postscript on October 24. Even after we showed them a screenshot of the refund on the 13th, HC6 refused to pay it. We’ll take the matter further. You’ve been warned. We reached HC6 at 4 pm on Friday, October 13, 2023. The door was locked and nobody was there, so we called the number on it. A woman said she’d arrive in five minutes. When she showed up, she said our room was around the corner. We’d once stayed in a separate room at another property, so we gave her the benefit of the doubt. Instead, she took us to a different nearby one-star hotel. After hauling our heavy bags up several flights of stairs, we saw a very poor room with a mattress as thick as a prison mattress. We realized we’d been badly let down. Our booking had been made through hotels.com two months earlier, and rather than tell us the truth about the double booking, HC6 offered this as a solution. It was a fiasco. The hotel showed us a screenshot saying it had cancelled the booking at 5 pm, then we had to look for somewhere else ourselves. Hotels.com gave us no help at all. Luckily, Laciudadela had one room left, and it turned out to be excellent. Don’t even consider booking HC6. I’ll also be very wary of hotels.com from now on because it provided no assistance.

The staff were lovely, and staying right in the heart of marbella made the location wonderful. I really enjoyed my visit and would recommend it.

It’s a family-run business, and for me this is the best place to stay in Marbella’s old town.
