DAOS Suites Terrace Marbella

I arrived late, but they accommodated me and discounted the room. The owner was very sweet and even gave me his parking spot. The male receptionist helped with all my bags and ordered a pizza for me. It’s very close to the mall. I had the suite with a jacuzzi inside. I was on my own, though it would be fun for a couple. It smelled clean, and the sheets were clean too.

The terrace was brilliant for my last day, and the cleaning service was great. I didn’t eat at the hotel, but I found the location ideal: quieter than Puerto Banus while close to my friends there. Mercadona is a five minute walk, and the old town is 22 minutes on foot. An Uber or Bolt into Puerto Banus costs €10-20, depending on how busy it is. I came on my own at 19 with a 33kg suitcase and was worried about the lack of a lift. A lovely staff member checked me in and carried it to my room, and did the same at checkout. Everyone was kind and welcoming. Be careful arriving at night alone, as there are some questionable people around, though staff come down the stairs to make sure you’re safe when they see you get out of an Uber. Highly recommend.

The service was terrible, and the boss didn’t seem to care. The whole hotel and the rooms smelled of weed and smoke, despite the no-smoking rule. The rooms also didn’t look like the online pictures. Worst experience.

The only nice thing was that the hotel smelled good. My room had no windows, which made me worry there’d be no way out in a fire, and the tiny shower felt claustrophobic. There were no basic bathroom products or pool either. The location felt so awful I was almost worried about being robbed. The €15 pizza I ordered was hard, dry, and practically cremated, like one from Iceland. One of the worst hotels I’ve stayed at, and I wouldn’t recommend it unless you want that sort of experience.
