The breakfast was a strong point, with fresh fruit and eggs made to order, including omelets and boiled eggs. ERRE had great steaks and a pleasant atmosphere, and the garden and pool area were lovely and well kept. The location near the sea is also excellent, and the staff were friendly and helpful. On-site parking was convenient. The rooms and common areas need attention. Worn carpets in the hallways and the dated windows made the hotel feel past modern five-star standards. Our courtyard-facing room was woken most mornings around 6:30 by trucks and breaking glass, apparently from bottle collection near the main entrance. We could hear it clearly even on the fifth floor. The likely original 1960s windows barely blocked sound and wouldn’t close properly. The sofa bed for our two children was only about a metre wide, and its mattress was so worn that the metal frame could be felt. The blankets had sheets wrapped around them instead of proper duvet covers, and the sheets kept slipping off. The outdoor spaces, location and service were pleasant, but a renovation is needed to bring the rooms back to true five-star quality.

The grounds were a lovely place to unwind between meals, and the sea-view Red Level room was beautiful and serviced daily by a charming housekeeping team. Every staff member went out of their way to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. Coming back to Don Pepe felt like coming home, with a warm welcome and quick check-in. I hope the Breakfast Room returns after the refurbishment. Already looking forward to 2027.

Abel was very helpful too, and I wanted to mention that. My biggest thanks go to Isabel in guest experience at the Don Pepe, Marbella. From our first day she did her best to make sure we were comfortable and having a good holiday. She’s a real asset, a consummate professional and a great ambassador for both the hotel and the hotel group.

The Red Level rooms are spacious, practical and have balconies looking out to sea. Housekeeping was very good, and the staff were among the best we’ve come across, always charming, helpful and professional. They’re what make this such a lovely place to stay. The gardens are beautiful, as are the lobby bar and terrace, and the location gives you fabulous views along the coast. We wish the team well with the refurbishment plans, and I expect most guests will come back.

The staff were brilliant, friendly and extremely helpful, and the service was amazing. With direct access to the beach and local amenities within walking distance, the location was excellent. A fantastic hotel resort. I’d definitely recommend it and come back.
