Puerta de Aduares

The apartment is clean and in a good location, but we ran into some strange problems. There was no electricity in our room even though the stairs had power. The owner said it was an issue with the street, which I couldn’t make sense of. At checkout the garage door wouldn’t work either. It was really frustrating. The owner didn’t answer my calls, and a stranger ended up helping us.

The location is very good if you want to be right in the city centre. The staff were helpful over messages, though reception isn’t open all the time. Getting there was confusing at first: you have to walk the last 100 metres, and we had to stop several times to ask people for directions. Later we found a shorter way from the Main Street. It would help if those directions were sent when booking. The rooms are on the second floor up a very narrow staircase, which is a bit of a challenge with luggage.

The apartment felt homely, with a nice bedroom and a lovely bathroom with a fantastic shower. We were welcomed by the owners’ son, who was very friendly and helpful. It’s well located, an easy walk to the main areas and about five minutes from the beach. I’d definitely recommend it and would stay again.

We stayed in September 2016 and had a beautiful visit in Marbella’s historic old town. Orange square is a must see if you want to experience the real spain. The hotel is a little family-run place right in the heart of the old town, and Doris, Jose and their son Frank made us feel so welcome. They were kind and gave us great advice about local attractions and restaurants. The apartment is spread over three floors and is a lovely, relaxing place to unwind. The double bedroom feels romantic, and the private little terrace is beautiful for breakfast or a glass of wine in the evening. We’d gladly return. Thank you for your kindness, Doris Jose and Frank.
