Seven Golden Mile

The service was very good, and the rooms were clean, hygienic, and tidy, just what you'd expect from an apartment hotel.

My family and I had already reached the city expecting to check in when I was told my reservation, confirmed for weeks, had been cancelled just a couple of hours earlier. It put us in a really difficult position. Most hotels nearby were full, so finding somewhere else at such short notice was stressful. I did manage to book alternative accommodation, but it was much farther away and nearly three times the price of my original booking. The property offered no meaningful help or solution. A confirmed reservation should be honored when people have planned their travel around it. This caused extra expense and stress and seriously affected our trip. I'd be very cautious about booking here.

I booked more than a month ahead, then my reservation was cancelled only two hours before check-in. I was left stuck in a foreign city with a three-month-old baby and a four-year-old child. Almost all the nearby hotels were full by then, and I spent hours looking for somewhere else. In the end, I had to book far away and pay nearly three times the original price. The hotel showed no responsibility and offered no real help. Cancelling a confirmed booking at the last minute is completely unacceptable and extremely unprofessional. I'd strongly advise other travellers, especially families with young children, to avoid this hotel. Apparently, a confirmed booking here means nothing.

The eel salad was delicious, but the wait was incredibly long. The oysters took more than half an hour to arrive, and when they did, they were small, bland, and expensive. There were waiters everywhere, like octopuses in a garage, but they weren't doing anything. The dining room was only half full and nobody was seated outside. We've been many times, and this was the worst and most expensive service we've had here. I was thinking of booking for ten, but didn't. If they can't manage two people, imagine how they'd cope with ten.
